The gesture of weaving
I work only with hand looms, experimenting with weave structures, densities and variations in the weft. The construction proceeds slowly, thread by thread, making it possible to intervene directly on the surface as it is being woven.
Alongside traditional techniques, I explore contemporary combinations, irregular weaves and changes in tension to create lively, distinctive surfaces.
Fibres, textures and colour
Wool, linen, cotton and fine fibres such as cashmere, mohair and silk are selected for their texture, colour rendering and behaviour over time. I choose natural materials and quality yarns, selecting each fibre according to the function of the object.
Colour often comes from observing the landscape and combining shades that are not perfectly uniform, giving depth to the textile.
